Mohamed Oubaha

Research Fellow

Dr. Mohamed Oubaha obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry of Materials from the University of Montpellier II in 2003 on the development of photocurable hybrid organic–inorganic sol–gel materials and their application to the fabrication of photonic devices. He was then appointed Assistant Lecturer at the Clermont-Ferrand’s Superior National School of Chemistry and involved in both teaching Inorganic and Mineral chemistries and the development of optically active luminescent Inorganic materials within the Inorganic Materials Laboratory. From October 2004 to October 2012, he has been associated to the National Centre for Sensor Research at Dublin City University as Research Fellow mainly conducting research projects on the development of hybrid sol-gel materials and strategies to the fabrication of sensors for environmental monitoring and biomedical diagnostic applications. Presently, he is associated with CREST as Senior Research Manager, managing research projects on the area of sol-gel materials for surface protection and sensing applications as well as supervising a number of postgraduate students.
